TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

SUMMARY

Provide customers and end users with product and technical support by performing the following duties via phone and email. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries. Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills. Regularly contribute to knowledge base in an attempt to keep information available to others. Consistently and effectively communicate with second level and/or developers regarding bugs and follows-up to make sure fixes are received and tested. Assist in testing of new products. Clearly documents steps to create defects

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience with customer interaction required.  Knowledge of Citrix, MSSQL, Internet Explorer, SQL scripting, basic networking skills is required.  Familiarity with QuickBooks, MAS90, Peachtree or other accounting packages is highly desirable, as well as knowledge of Crystal Reports and Omni Forms.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret customer inquiries regarding product use. Effectively present technical information; respond to questions from customers and the general public via email and phone.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to resolve problems submitted by customers requiring product knowledge; debugging skills and problem solving abilities. Ability to research problems independently; to understand and apply knowledge known problems to resolving customer issues and to isolate issues to root cause.
